Here’s a quick shoot with burlesque performer and professional body-piercer, Lou-Leigh Blue. The shoot took place at her studio at Purple Rose Tattoo, Bristol where she’s really gone to town on the cool and quirky decor. Lou-Leigh modelled harnesses by Blu83, a small fashion label run by fellow burlesque performer, Daisy Cutter. Daisy Cutter’s has […]
A few weeks back I had the pleasure of producing some beautiful promotional photography for a Bath-based Swedish artist, Jennie Gyllblad who is forging a growing reputation as a comic book artist and freelance illustrator. Jennie, who has a degree in Illustration, loves creating stories and characters using traditional media such as watercolour, gouache, ink […]
Recently I was lucky to work again with Bristol-based makeup artist Jo Peters, a makeup lecturer at City of Bristol college and something on an online celebrity with a hugely popular YouTube channel. Our model for the shoot was Jess who was keen to try out an idea I’d had making use of lots and […]
London-based Canadian burlesque star Marianne Cheescake has been dazzling international audiences with her fun-packed routines and it was my great pleasure to shoot with her when she was in Bristol. We’d been in touch via email discussing two different ideas and made use of Pinterest to organise our thoughts visually. The first act Marianne had […]

The Exposition of Cabaret, Vintage Fashion and Burlesque is a Bath Fringe Festival Event held at the famous antique Speigeltent – a most beautiful tented venue indeed. On offer will be a […]
Last week saw me enjoy a fun test shoot with agency model, Milota, and a fantastic team. The shoot took place at Bristol’s Cox and Baloney’s, a cool, quirky vintage boutique on Cheltenham Road, which itself feeds in to Gloucester Road, famous for its assortment of interesting independent business and dubbed by one national newspaper […]
During the summer I enjoyed a small shoot with aspiring local burlesque artist, Missy Bijou, with styling and makeup work provided by Ally Katte. We made use of my ‘living room studio’ using Bowens Gemini studio lighting and a Lastolite Hilite background. Cross-processing and black and white conversions were done with Photoshop.
It was a portrait shoot with a difference as I hit Weston to photography a client in full vintage attire. Kitty Ribbons, a well-known caberet burlesque performer, had arranged with local scooter and mod culture enthusiast Dave Coombs to bring along his immaculate machine. The idea was to combine Kitty and scooter with an archetypal […]
One little ‘personal project’ shoot I did recently saw me photograph members of the South West Burlesque Collective. The group serves as a networking and mutual support group for performers and others connected with the burlesque scene in the area. ‘Burlesque’ has grown massively over the last 5-10 years in the UK, initially reinvigorated by […]
