In early December, I moved into a fantastic photographic studio right in the heart of Bristol.
Sharing with one other photographer, the studio is large enough for a wide range of portrait and light commercial photography and I have already received several clients who love the location and space.
There are multiple professional Bowens studio lights, huge Octabox, softboxes, beauty dish and other modifiers and reflectors, which mean photo shoots from edgy high fashion, through corporate headshots to beauty portraits can be taken. There is sufficient space for makeup artists and hair stylists to work and the studio is perfect for smaller shoots for clothing companies, product work for catalogues, etc.
Theirs is plenty of natural light too, and using large reflectors I have even used the space for some beautiful boudoir-style shoots.
While there is no parking on-site, based in BS1, several car parks are just a short walk away and it is situated near to all major transport links. If bringing heavy bags or props to the studio, there is space to pull in for unloading. The city centre location makes a great starting point for location shoots in an around the urban landscape of the city too.
The studio is equipped with comfy sofa and chairs and is a great place to welcome clients for business or personal clients to talk through ideas for upcoming projects.
For portrait shoots I have normally made use of locations or hired studio space as and when. For social photography or corporate work the studio option can now be offered as an option and I look forward to seeing many of you hear during 2014.
